![]() I personally use a Canon Pixma printer (love it) and buy third-party ink for it. The quality might be a tad bit lower than the real stuff, but it's a whole lot cheaper. Even less expensive are third-party "compatible" ink cartridges that sell for $3 or so. ![]() These manufacturers sell replacement ink that doesn't include a new print head, making the ink cheaper to buy. If you print a lot, look into getting a Canon or Epson. I don't actually own this printer, but as far as I know its print quality is just fine. If you don't print much, that's probably OK. All of Dell's printers are made by Lexmark, and like Lexmark printers they tend to require very expensive ink. ![]() Why? Dell hopes to make money off the very profitable ink cartridges. Dell gives this printer away with a lot of the computers it sells.
